Why You Should Go
A Poland and Czech Republic private tour offers a culturally compelling snapshot of two contrasting Eastern European countries. Though we enjoy Warsaw, we fully admit that Krakow is our favorite, engaging city in Poland. In addition to being a lively walking-city, there is the haunting and sobering Auschwitz Concentration Camp. A half-day visit here is an unforgettable experience and most instructive of the horrors of the Holocaust.
While Paris is perhaps our favorite city on the European continent, Prague remains our most well-liked city in Central Europe; think of it as a more Bohemian, less haughty version of Paris. Similar to Paris, Prague was heavily undamaged in WWII and offers views of striking Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. We enthusiastically recommend a full-day excursion to beautiful Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered by many to be Bohemia’s prettiest city.

Each private luxury tour is custom to the wishes of each client. This itinerary is a sample. Day 1
Fly to Warsaw
Through our sister company, premium air provider TRAVNET, we may assist with your international airfare, as well as with mileage points conversion.
Day 2
Arrive Warsaw
Upon arrival in Warsaw, you will be privately transferred to Mamaison Hotel le Regina.

Day 3
Warsaw Private Tour
Ravaged by World War II and restored thereafter, your tour will begin in Warsaw’s Old Town. Aside from Warsaw’s unique architecture, you will continue to the Jewish ghetto, the largest of all Jewish ghettos in Nazi-occupied Europe. In the afternoon, you will continue to the baroque style Wilanow Palace & Gardens. With many World War II historical sites, we may suggest many sobering experiences from the History of Polish Jews and Exhibition on the Warsaw Ghetto, among others.

Day 4
Warsaw/Czestochowa/Krakow
Following breakfast, you will be privately driven to Krakow. For several reasons, we feel Krakow is perhaps the more engaging, interesting city than Warsaw. Up until 1596, Krakow was the capital of Poland and has maintained its role as one of the leading centers of Polish cultural life.
En route, you may stop at the holiest site in all of Poland, Jasna Gora Monastery. This is home to the country’s most important religious icon, the Black Madonna.

Day 5
Krakow
Following breakfast, you will journey to the district of Kasimierz, the city’s historic Jewish Quarter and once the political/social center for Jews in all of Europe. Museums, restaurants, and artisanal shops abound, you will have your choice of sites to visit. Of special note Oskar Schindler’s Factory and now museum, that tells the story of the Jewish people during Nazi occupation.

Day 6
Tatra Mountain Excursion
Today you will set out to explore the striking Tatra Mountains on Poland’s southern border with Slovakia. A UNESCO protected biosphere reserve (mostly on the Slovak side), the Tatra’s 300+ peaks form a large part of the Central Carpathian Mountains. When you arrive, you will enjoy a horse carriage ride which will take you to the picturesque Morskie Oko Lake, the largest and fourth deepest lake in the Tatra’s. Once you arrive at the lake you will embark on a one mile hike. We love this day trip as an opportunity to experience an often overlooked but beautiful and serene landscape.

Day 7
Auschwitz Berkenau Concentration Camp
Following breakfast, you will be driven to the haunting and infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, the most notorious site of the Third Reich, for all day touring. The camp was preserved as a memorial to the millions who perished (among 28 nationalities). Despite the history of this place, we feel a visit to Auschwitz is most instructive of the horrors of the Holocaust.

Day 9
Krakow/Prague
After breakfast, you will be privately driven to Prague, where you will be checked-in to the Aria Hotel.

Day 10
Prague Private Tour
Following breakfast at the Aria, meet your local guide for a full day private tour of Prague, including a walking tour of the Old Town. In the afternoon, you may continue to Prague’s Castle District. Visits include Hradcany Castle, the seat of Bohemian kings and Holy Roman emperors, Cathedral of St. Vitus, one of the finest and most richly endowed in central Europe, and the Basilica of St. George which was founded in 905.

Day 11
Troja Palace
After breakfast at the hotel of your choice, you will enjoy a half day private tour to Troja Palace, the 16th-century summer residence of the Counts of Sternberg, set amidst formal gardens. We feel the lush gardens here are among the most beautiful in Central Europe.

Opened in 2004, the 61-room boutique 5-star Mamaison Hotel Le Regina has been our favorite luxury property in Warsaw for quite some time. Close to the Old Town in a nice quiet area of the city, the hotel is actually a restored 18th-century palace. We particularly like the rooms’ Italian-made custom furniture and the marble floor bathrooms – please note the bathrooms come with a tub/shower as one unit. Amenities include a nice indoor swimming pool as well as onsite restaurant and spa.
Mamaison Hotel le Regina

We very much enjoyed the rooftop restaurant during our stay here (weather permitting!).

Although we use Four Seasons properties throughout the world, many of our clients prefer more historical, unique, boutique 5-star hotels, if possible. In the case of Prague, we feel the smaller, luxury Augustine and Aria Hotels offer a more enriching high-end overnight experience when staying in Prague. This sleek, modern 51-room luxury boutique property is located in the quaint Mala Strana (Little Quarter) area, near the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and Old Town Square. We prefer the contemporary-designed deluxe rooms, with views of either St. Nicholas Church or the winter garden atrium.
