By the very nature of what we do in preparing our global private tours, we serve less than 200 families. By doing so, it enables us with the wherewithal to provide the highest level of personal, singular service for each private tour. Please note, we normally only accept new clients to our Kipling & Clark family based on referrals from current clients, who fully understand the service we represent.
Kipling & Clark was initially founded upon two concepts: a love for Asia and a desire for independent, luxury travel. Following my ISU college graduation and moving to Chicago as an impetuous young man with no immediate job prospects, I was graciously taken in by the city’s Pacific Garden Mission homeless shelter for several weeks. Based on such modest beginnings, little did I know at the time my future profession would entail global private luxury travel! Following a fast-paced, 14 year career at Korean Air, I started TravNET and then Kipling & Clark. As the founder and CEO, I thoroughly enjoy exploring the globe’s many compelling cultures with my wife, Bev, and daughter Zennia. Following in the steps of Bev and me, Zen has become a truly intrepid (and pampered) Kipling & Clark traveler. With support from our steadfast partners, United Airlines, Bev, Zen, and I have logged hundreds of thousands of miles to many of the most compelling (and remote!) areas of the world. We only sell what we know to exceptional clients who are the foundation of our business.
Giving BackHaving been big admirers of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) for many years now, we are excited to announce our donation campaign in support of their extraordinary work. Considering its global reach in over 71 countries, we have consolidated all of our charitable donations to this one medical humanitarian organization. We are grateful and humbled to support Doctors Without Borders with a 1% donation of each Kipling & Clark private tour sale through December 2021. Based on our clients’ enthusiastic feedback in our promotion of MSF’s efforts, we are truly grateful for the opportunity to offer our support in this way.
We are proud of the close, supportive relationships we have with our many global luxury service providers, including the most exclusive hotels, ryokans, resorts, safari camps, and vessels in the world. Although we are big fans of the more recognizable global 5-star brands, including Aman, Peninsula, Four Seasons, Mandarin, Oberoi, et. al., we opt for the more locally-based boutique luxury hotels and lodges where available (e.g., La Bastide de Marie – Provence, Gora Kadan – Hakone, Metropole Legend – Hanoi, JK Place – Florence & Capri, Algodon Mansion – Buenos Aires, Explora Patagonia – Chile, Chief’s and Vumbura Camps – Botswana).
Regardless of your travel destination (Japan, Burma, India, France, Istanbul, Peru, New Zealand, et.al.), the most critical part of your custom tour is your day-to-day private guide and driver. We are grateful for the number of high-quality and knowledgeable guides we use throughout the world.
Please note that we offer a comprehensive private tour cost, including private guides and drivers throughout, all luxury accommodations, all internal private transfers, all internal rail and flights, meals per individual itinerary, and all taxes and service fees.
By agreement with our various suppliers worldwide, we are unable to provide line by line pricing breakdowns. A key requirement among our suppliers is that we may only quote their rates as part of an overall private tour package price.
