Thailand & Singapore Private Tour
Why You Should Go
As one of the world’s richest nations and capital of global finance, Singapore has been awash in green for decades. But lately the densely populated city-state is burnishing its credentials as another type of green center – the ecological kind. According to the Green City Index, Singapore is ranked among the greenest cities in Asia, with few competitors around the world. Similar to our beloved Japan, this city-state is meticulously clean, offering a unique contrast between sleek urban landscapes and lush green gardens.
A visit to Southeast Asia is not complete without also visiting Thailand, considered the number one travel destination within the region. One of the real draws of Thailand is that it is a land of contrasts, from the sandy beaches of Phuket to the rolling hill countries of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. We would be remiss not to mention our love for the sprawling cosmopolitan city of Bangkok; what sets this city apart from Hong Kong or Singapore is its palpable raw energy.

Day 3
Singapore Private Tour
Enjoy an early morning stop at Singapore’s wonderful Botanic Gardens, truly a must-see and one of the most well-kept parks we have visited anywhere in the world. This is a peaceful stroll through the lush, green grounds of the 183 acre complex, approximately one-fifth the size of Central Park. Continue your private touring of Singapore on Arab street at the Sultan Mosque, considered one of the most impressive buildings in the city at almost 100 years old. Afterwards visit Emerald Hill to explore the restored shop houses of the Peranakans, before stopping at the Yong Gallery in Chinatown for a tea ceremony.

Day 4
Fly Singapore to Chiang Mai
Once in Chiang Mai, you will be privately transferred to the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai.

Day 5
Chiang Mai Private Touring
Your day begins with a visit to the Warrior’s Market before taking a touristy (yet fun!) rickshaw ride to Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai’s leading monastery and home to one of Thailand’s most iconic images – that of the Pra Singh Buddha. You will continue to the Wat Suthep Temple, the temple is reached by climbing a naga (snake/serpent deities) balustrade staircase of 306 steps. We recommend taking the stairs as a nice, yet arduous fitness/spiritual introduction to northern Thailand; however, there is a tram available for those less ambitious. In the evening, you may wish to stop at the Chiang Mai Women’s Prison Massage Center, which offers full body massages by inmates at the women’s prison as a part of their rehabilitation training program and as an opportunity for them to earn money prior to their release in six months.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodations: Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai

Day 6
Chiang Mai Guided Hiking
With an abundance of natural beauty, we recommend allotting at least one day to hiking in Chiang Mai. The sprawling 186 square-mile Doi Inthanon National Park is one of the most popular national parks in all of Thailand, and for good reason (!), offering multiple waterfalls like Wachirathan Waterfall, the tree-lined walk of Ang Ka Nature Trail, and the iconic Royal Twin Pagodas. Additional options include the challenging 4.8-mile Mon Jing Loop Hike to a Buddha statue at the summit, and the well-travelled Buddha’s Footprint Trail, a moderate 5.6-mile trail located in Suthep-Pui National Park.
You may also be taken to Chiang Dao, a lush jungle environment ideal for biking and visiting the various hill tribes, such as the Akha. At the end of the day, continue to the Palong Hill Tribe village, a people notable for their distinctive teeth decorated in gold.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodations: Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai

Day 7
Private Transfer to Chiang Rai + Wat Rong Khun Stopover en Route
Today you will be privately driven to the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle. En route, enjoy lunch and a stopover at Wat Rong Khun, rightfully referred to as “The White Temple” for its shining white color. Wat Rong Khun is more than just a temple; it is a strikingly unique a piece of art, built from intricate glass and mirrors. Enjoy a moment of contemplation as you take in this architectural wonder.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Accommodations: Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle

Day 8
Chiang Rai Private Touring
You will first visit the ancient Lanna hill tribe town of Chiang Saen, captured by the Burmese in the 16th century, sacked by King Rama I in 1803, and left largely abandoned until 1900 when it slowly started to become repopulated. You will then visit Chiang Rai’s Hall of Opium Museum, where interactive displays and multi-media presentations offer a grim overview of the Golden Triangle’s centuries-old drug trade, dating back 5,000 years. Close to the very fields where millions of opium poppies once bloomed, the museum presents a full picture of the opium trade, its history and the blighted lives of addicts.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Accommodations: Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle

Day 9
Chiang Rai Free Day
Today is free for you to enjoy the amenities of the Four Seasons Tented Camp or to take on a guided exploration. There are an abundance of active excursion options, including a long-tail boat cruise on the Mekong River to the Golden Triangle – where Thailand meets with its neighbors, Myanmar/Burma and Laos. You may also enjoy a two-hour hike through rice fields and with the local community at the village of Wang Lao, with the trail ending with an overhead view of the Golden Triangle. Birding opportunities are plentiful on the various trails of Huay Mark Liam National Park, and traditional fishing with locals is available through the Four Seasons for water lovers.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodations: Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle

Day 10
Fly Chiang Rai to Bangkok
Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will have the chance to check-in and freshen up at the Mandarin Oriental before embarking on a half-day private tour of Bangkok via a klong. The klongs (canals) water excursion highlights the Thai way of life that at one time gave Bangkok the title of “Venice of the East.” Although pollution-challenged, the Chao Phraya River is still a compelling part of life here. You will pass Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), as well as many unique riverside neighborhoods. Many of the cultural highlights are in the city’s historical core, Rattanakosin (or old Bangkok), which sits on a bend on the east side of the Chao Praya River. Here you will find the grounds of the Grand Palace, the complex of buildings and gardens built when the capital was founded in 1782.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodations: Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

Day 11
Bangkok Private Touring
You will embark on a 2-hour drive to the Ratchaburi Province, where you will board a private longboat to travel along the Damnoen Saduak River, meandering through a series of canals, before ending at the Floating Market. Since many of the dishes are cooked directly in the small boats, you will have an immense variety of local food to taste with satay and noodle soup. Following a late lunch, at a local restaurant (if you are still hungry!), you will visit a unique county market, located along a stretch of railway tracks. Every time a train passes, all the vendors pull away their tables/workshops from the tracks, only to replace them the second the train is gone – this is quite a funny sight.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodations: Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

Day 12
Bangkok Private Touring
Your Bangkok touring begins with a trip to see the Emerald Buddha, sat atop an elevated altar, and housed within the former royal palace which features an intriguing blend of Italian Renaissance architecture and classical Thai roofing. You will continue to Wat Pho, built by King Rama I nearly 200 years ago and housing the gigantic Reclining Buddha or Phra Buddhasaiyas, 150 feet long and almost 50 feet high, covered entirely in gold leaf. Your touring ends with a visit Jim Thompson’s House, once home to the American silk entrepreneur, this remarkable accommodates Thompson’s vast collection of antiques and artworks from all over the Southeast Asian region. In the evening, you may wish to visit the Patpong Night Market, among the most diverse and interesting of Bangkok’s many markets.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodations: Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

Day 13
Fly Bangkok to Phuket
Upon arrival in Phuket, you will be privately transferred to Amanpuri, with the remainder of the evening free to spend at your leisure.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodations: Amanpuri

Days 14-15
Phuket Free Days
The next two days are at leisure to explore independently or take advantage of the incredible amenities at Amanpuri. With a long and arduous trip, many clients enjoy to relax at the white sand beaches (with a surrounding jungle backdrop) of Amanpuri. For those wishing to amplify their Phuket experience, we may also charter a private catamaran to Phi Phi Islands to swim, snorkel, sail, and even have animal interactions at Monkey Beach.
Meals: Breakfast
Accommodations: Amanpuri

Hotels

Conceived by Hong Kong-based designer Andre Fu, we believe the boutique 5-star Fullerton Bay Hotel is the finest luxury property in Singapore. We consider the 98-room property to be a more sleek, contemporary version of its sister hotel, The Fullerton. The Fullerton Bay is located adjacent to scenic Marina Bay, offering spectacular sunset views and is within easy walking distance of nearby shops and restaurants. Our favorite rooms are the Premier Bay View Rooms overlooking the waterfront, including nice outdoor sundecks and all the updated amenities imaginable. A big plus for staying here is Fullerton Bay’s amazing rooftop pool and bar. Nicely manicured with tropical gardens, the rooftop is an ideal place for a sunset swim or evening cocktails. The Lynch family rates The Fullerton Bay Hotel an A+ among Singapore’s 5-star hotels!

We cannot imagine a luxury resort in Chiang Mai with better service or a more beautiful setting. The 98-pavilion Four Seasons Chiang Mai features landscaped gardens, water lily ponds, water buffalo (Zen loves the morning rides!), set in terraced rice paddies, creating a peaceful oasis. Though incredibly beautiful, there is pretention here: the service is subtle, heartfelt, natural, almost wabi-sabiesque in its delivery. Facilities include two swimming pools, a fitness center, and a very nice spa, as well as cooking classes at the noteworthy Oriental Culinary Academy.

Although smaller (only 15 luxury “tents” in scale), the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai offers every bit of luxury service as its sister property in Chiang Mai. Set in a lush hillside overlooking Burma and Laos, the tented accommodations offer every custom amenity imaginable including amazing views of the Ruak River, Burma and the mountains of Laos, and green jungle and Golden Triangle. Rooms feature hand-crafted copper tubs, handheld showers, and picturesque decks with outdoor showers (!). Public areas include a free-form riverside pool, spa pavilions, and a small elephant (mahout) training camp, which we consider the focal point of the property. The welcoming and accommodating team at Four Seasons can even arrange signature experiences for your family such as an outdoor movie screening and a private barbecue dinner featuring authentic Thai flavors.

Founded in 1876, the 393-room Oriental really sets the standard for subtle, understated luxury – the service here is legendary. The State Rooms (River Wing), Author’s Suite, and 2-Bedroom Family Suite are among our favorites – decorated in traditional Thai style with dark teakwood and bright Thai silk. Another plus is their amazing spa (accessible via ferryboat directly across the Chao Phraya River from the hotel). Other features include two pools, tennis and squash courts, and a renowned Thai Cooking School. Though we are not so keen on 200+ room size hotels, we will happily make an exception for this iconic Bangkok property (!)
