Spain Private Tour

Local Time

Why You Should Go

Similar to the Spanish-speaking countries of South America, Spain epitomizes a love-of-life culture with unlimited culinary, historical, and visually striking landscapes. Spain’s three official languages illustrate strong regional distinctions and clue into the cultural mosaic that Spain is. Watch a clip of Spanish national soccer team during the national anthem and you will notice there are no official words due to its highly contrasting languages and regional cultures! One moment you are strolling through the Gaudi-dominated streets of Barcelona and the next, you find yourself immersed in the compelling Moorish history and architecture of the breathtaking Andalucia. You will find that Spain’s history is more rich and profound than ever imagined by taking a private tour with us.

Hotels

Next to its sister property in Hong Kong, the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona is our favorite Mandarin hotel in the world. The luxury 5-Star 120-room Mandarin opened in 2010, ideally located on Barcelona’s famous Passeig de Gracia, across the street from Gaudi’s Casa Batllo and a short walk to the Gothic quarter. We were particularly impressed with the striking narrow futuristic walkway when entering the hotel’s atrium. Although the hotel occupies a classic mid-20th-century bank building, the property’s interior offers clean, contemporary room designs. The opaque class-encased bathrooms include free-standing oval tubs and large walk-in showers. Other luxury amenities here include a world-class spa (with its own 40 ft. lap pool), fully equipped fitness center and amazing (though narrow) rooftop plunge pool. Great restaurants! We feel the Mandarin is the finest hotel in Barcelona.

Host to royals and celebrities, the 151-room 5-Star Alfonso XIII is the iconic, premier hotel of Seville. Conceived in the Andalusian style for the 1928 Exhibition of the Americas, the hotel was opened by King Alfonso XIII (hence the name!). Located in Seville’s historic center, you are walking distance to the cathedral and Giralda Tower, as well as the Alcazar Palace/gardens. All rooms are decorated in Moorish, Castilian, and Isabelline baroque style, the entire property completely renovated in 2012. Despite the renovation, we feel the rooms to be a bit small compared to other 5-Star hotels in Spain. That being said, the Alfonso is considered the finest luxury hotel in Seville. Nice outdoor pool and small gym, though, regrettably no spa. High-quality restaurant choices, with Taifas restaurant in the gardens near the pool being our favorite.

You may wish to take a golf cart ride on the property’s beautifully landscaped world-class golf course; parts of the course overlook the Rock of Gibraltar! With average July/Aug highs in the upper-80sF, the hotel’s impressive Beach Club will be a welcome break from the heat, in addition to the three gorgeous outdoor pools. The hotel’s luxury spa (23,000 sq. ft.) includes a huge indoor saltwater pool, in addition to a hammam (memories of Turkey!). Tennis courts and an outstanding gym are also available.
