Kipling and Clark was founded upon two concepts—a love for Asia and a desire for independent, luxury travel.

Since my university days, I have had an intrinsic interest in the Far East. Beginning a career in travel after graduation was a natural progression. Early in my career, while working at Korean Air, I spent weeks at a time in Korea, China, and Southeast Asia. Business trips lead to pleasure trips and I quickly became an expert in traversing the lands and in air travel. Although my wife Beverly shared my interest in the Pacific Rim, she preferred traveling in a more exclusive manner, staying at beautiful luxury properties and touring the Far East’s most unique locations. Ultimately, Beverly’s penchant for independent travel inspired the creation of Kipling and Clark.

The Far East has awarded us so many wonderful travel experiences, as well as many long-lasting Asia-based friendships. China, in particular, gave us our most precious gift, our daughter Zennia, whom we adopted from Guangdong Province in July, 2001. As a family, Beverly, Zen and I have traveled together to eight Asian countries, logged over 300,000 United Airline miles, and experienced some of the most exotic hotels and resorts in the region, including the Four Seasons Chiang Mai, the Amankila in Bali, the Raffles in Siem Reap, and the Peninsula in Hong Kong. Following in the steps of Beverly and myself, Zen has become a truly intrepid and pampered Kipling and Clark traveler!
